Exec to Speak at Remarkable Women’s
Conference

to Deliver Keynote
Patti Clark Smith, president and general
manager of KVUE-TV, ABC’s affiliate
in Austin, Texas, will deliver the keynote
address at the 2nd annual Remarkable Women’s
Conference.
Smith has over 32 years in the television
industry encompassing positions in sales,
production, promotions and news departments.
She is a member of the American Women in
Radio and Television and the Texas Association
of Broadcasters Pioneer Club, as well as
a past Chairman of the Board of the Texas
Association of Broadcasters, the largest
and most influential state broadcasting association
in the nation. Under her leadership,
KVUE-TV and its staff have been recognized
with numerous national honors citing their “Overall
Excellence” in the industry.
Titled “What It Means to Be a Pebble
in The Pond”, Smith’s keynote
address reflects her core values of service
to the community. Her message speaks
to the ideals and practical steps necessary
to live a life rich in fulfillment and purpose
while giving thought to actions to make life
and work more meaningful, actions that could
change the world, one person at a time.
The Remarkable Women’s Conference
is being held this year at the Norris Conference
Center on Anderson Lane, June 6th-8th. The
conference is organized and hosted each year
by Innovative Abundance Partnerships LLC,
a business envisioned and created by a group
of remarkable women entrepreneurs seeking
to fill a void in local conferences for women.
“There was a real need to provide
space where women could make meaningful connections
beyond the exchange of business-speak and
business cards, where they can connect on
a deeper level than simply rushing around
a room dropping business cards and closing
deals,” explains Ragen Chastain, Director, Innovative
Abundance Partnerships LLC.
Others in the business of networking tend
to agree. “I have attended between
28 and 30 trade shows, events, craft shows
and conferences a year for the last two years
and I have never had such wonderful and significant
connections than I did at the Remarkable
Women’s Conference,” says Tonya
Hoffman, owner of Your Local City, a networking
organization based in Austin.
Conference workshops address all areas of
a woman’s life from bedroom to boardroom;
family, workplace, relationships, business
and family; with topics spanning the spectrum
from building successful sales teams to building
successful relationships, from sexual intimacy
to sexual harassment, and from finance management
to intentional manifestation.
Connections made at the conference are then
nurtured throughout the year with happy hours,
workshops, networking events and an International
Women’s Day celebration each March. The
conference has increased in popularity and
now also draws men as well. “We believe
that supporting women doesn't mean excluding
men,” Chastain points out. “We
definitely encourage men who want to connect
with Remarkable Women to come to the conference.”
The conference strengthens community connections
as well, as a portion of proceeds from Remarkable
Women’s Conference events go to local
women-centered charities. This year’s
funds will be donated to GENAustin, an Austin-based
charity engaged in fostering self-esteem
in girls.

Women’s Conference is organized and
